The House, and Beyond

Miste Tor is built around the stay. For guests who want to add to it, a small set of experiences can be brought to the house, or found just beyond the gate.

A Chef at the Estate

An Evening at the Kitchen Island

The house has a kitchen built for company. On nights when guests want more than a meal, a private chef can be brought in to make use of it.

David Lee, who cooks across the Southern Highlands, shapes each menu to the table. Local produce, what's in season, a long unhurried dinner of three or four courses paired with regional wines.

The dining room becomes the only room that matters. No transfers, no booking windows. Just the house, the table, and the night ahead of you.

Available for stays of two nights or more, arranged in advance.

Gathering at the Estate

At Miste Tor, the table is where the best moments of a stay often unfold.

From long table feasts to intimate private chef dinners, the estate is designed for shared meals that unfold slowly and naturally.

Open kitchens, generous dining spaces and countryside views create the perfect setting for gathering around the table.

A Grazing Table

A board prepared and delivered to the house. Artisan cheeses, charcuterie from the region, fresh bread, dips, olives and seasonal fruit.

Set out on the kitchen island or carried to the terrace, it suits a long afternoon, a sundowner, or the quiet hour before dinner.

Group Feasting

For groups who want more than a meal. A spit roast set on the lawn, a BBQ collection cooked on the open coal, or a ready-to-serve dinner brought to the table.

Designed for slower country evenings, when the cooking is part of the gathering and no one is in a hurry.

A Wine Tasting

A guided tasting through a selection of Southern Highlands and regional wines, hosted at the kitchen island or the long table.

Insights into varietals, producers and pairings, shared in a relaxed format. An hour or two before dinner, or an afternoon of its own.

Among the Animals

The property is home to a small group of horses and cattle, kept quietly on the land.

Guests are welcome to meet them at feeding time, hand a carrot over the fence, or simply walk the paddock fence-line in the morning quiet.

It is one of the slower pleasures of staying here. Children take to it immediately. Adults, often, take a little longer to admit they enjoy it just as much.

The Treetop Flywalk

The Illawarra Fly Treetop Adventures sits directly alongside the property. A suspended walkway through the rainforest canopy, with views across the escarpment to the coast.

A short walk from the front gate. Best in the early morning, before the day's visitors arrive.

Beyond Miste Tor

Miste Tor sits within the upper escarpment, where some of the region's finest walks begin. Carrington Falls, Belmore Falls, and the Macquarie Pass rainforest are each within a short drive.

Robertson is ten minutes from the gate. The pub serves a proper Sunday roast and pours a good local pinot. The pie shop is older than most things in the region, and worth the visit. Bowral, Berrima and Burrawang sit a little further afield, each with their cellar doors, bookshops and slow lunches.

The room has large sliding glass doors on the right, opening to an outdoor patio with greenery. The floor is hardwood, and a decorative rug is under the table. The background includes a living area with a white sofa, a clock on the wall, and a sculpture.

Curated. Considered. Quiet.

Every experience at Miste Tor is shaped to the stay. Brought to the house when wanted, left aside when not.

Dining, walks, the country around the gate. Each adds something to the time spent here. None is required.
